Idea 1
Main story line/plot:
There are these two girls who are new friends that formed their friendship extremely quickly and they spend lots of time at each others houses, their parents know each other but only in the sense that they chat when each girl goes to the others house. The girls are 17 so can't leave home quite yet. The have a sleepover together as they have many times before and while they are watching a film on one of their beds their fingers slowly touch each other and then their legs and they just slowly move closer to each other, they look at each other and kiss but pull away suddenly because both girls have families that won't accept them and for moset of their lives they have been living in denial and so if they accept that they love each other then it will feel real and have consequences. The pretend the kiss never happened and continue as normal until one night where they have both been drinking and they kiss again and this time neither of them pulls away. In the morning one of the girls says that they can't ever do that again and she asks the other girl to leave. She leaves crying because she was just beginning to accept them possibly being together in secret. The other girl then feels bad and goes over to her house and when she answers she appologies and kisses her right as her mother walks in from the kitchen. Everyone is speechless for a second and then the mother asks what they were doing and as they start to deny it that is when the shouting begins. The mother calls the father down and tells the girl to go home becuase they need ot talk with their daughter. The first thing the mother does is phone the other girls parent to tell them what they saw and when she gets home her parents arent there yet so she thinks she has time to come up with something to say but then her door opens and her parents are there with a priest, she has no idea what is going on, her mother is crying and praying under her breath while her father can't even look at her. Two other people walk in and restrain her while she struggles, the priest then performs an exorcism on her trying to expel the 'demon' inside her. Meanwhile the other girl is trying to justify herself to her parents but all they can say is that it is unnatural and that it is all in her head and she needs to be cured. The argument builds until the father slaps her to shut her up. She goes up to her room cries and sleeps. She wakes up to her mum coming in and telling her to get dressed and that they are taking a trip. As she heads downstairs she sees the pamphlet for conversion therapy and runs back up the stairs packs a bag and jumps out of her window. She runs to the other girls house and climbs up to her window to find her on her bed tear streaks down her face and full of bruises she enters her room and packs her a back telling her they are getting out of there. They run away to a little place they have in the woods where they finally feel like they can be themselves. After a few days they hear the police calling for them on a search, there is a chase sequence with both the parents and the police but they manage to escape and there is a moment of eye contact between them and their parents before they continue. They are free.
Opening title sequence:
The first shot is of their backs facing the camera with a shed that they decorated in front of them with no music the camera then pans and zooms in on their hands. Then various close ups of their hands, fingers touching, tracing circles on one another, silent laughter, close ups of them looking at each other, of their eyes, all of this is then interspersed with clips of the argument with the parents and tear streaked faces, flashing lights of the police cars. All of this has a gentle but still happy soundtrack and all of the audio from the shots are muted. Maybe there could be a few clips of dialogue if it works with the song in the background. The title would be right at the start with a few of the main credits and then the rest of the credits would be at the bottom of the screen while the rest of the action takes place because if the movie where to carry on the screen would go blank after a close up of one of their tear streaked faces and they let out a sigh that is diegetic and then cut to the begining of the film where there might be a voice over of telling the story of how they first met but it doesnt continue throughout the film and it only picks up again right at the end when they are walking away from their parents are their homes saying something about being free to be themselves.
